Updated 2012 version of this 72 page A5 booklet. This leaflet has been produced by the National Screening Committee and contains information on all of the current Antenatal and Newborn screening tests that are available for pregnant women and their newborn babies. Revised in October 2011 to reflect changes in national policy and guidance.

Revised in May 2010 to reflect changes in national policy and guidance

"Having a mid pregnancy ultrasound scan?" has been produced for women and their partners who are considering the offer of fetal anomaly screening during their pregnancy.

Following the success of the pictorial version of the 'Testing for Down's syndrome during pregnancy' leaflet, FASP has developed a pictorial leaflet version of the 'Having a mid pregnancy ultrasound scan?' leaflet for parents.

This leaflet has been produced for parents with learning difficulties, it is written in plain English with accompanying illustrations, and has been produced in collaboration with the Elfrida Society.

It is available to order in hard copy from the FASP Programme Centre on 0845 5277910.

This book was produced by The Elfrida Society for the NHS Fetal Anomaly Screening Programme.

The pictorial version of the ‘Testing for Down's syndrome in Pregnancy' leaflet has been developed through consultation with primary focus groups as well as broader consultation with a range of health professionals. We hope that this leaflet will also be of use to all parents undergoing screening especially those with learning difficulties, but it may also be of use to those who speak English as a second language and those with low literacy rates.
